POWER-UP. The new MTG Marvel Super Heroes mechanic, fully explained.

It's a once-per-game activated ability on creatures. The catch: the activation cost is reduced by the creature's mana value if you activate it the same turn the creature enters the battlefield.

Worked example: 4-mana creature, 6-mana Power-up cost. Cast it on turn four = can't activate. Cast it on turn six and activate same turn = pay just 2 mana for the activation. Same ability, totally different cost.

What that means in practice:
✅ Built for the late game (Exhaust never scaled like this)
✅ Rewards holding cards and topdecking into combos
✅ Works best in ramp and control shells
❌ Doesn't work well from the command zone

Here is what really got me though. Wizard of Barge posted a statement today saying he woke up just like every one of you to try to buy a second copy. Because like everyone else, he only gets one. It sold out while it was in his cart.

He spent months on this. Described it as his dream project with Magic. Said he emailed his WotC contact to see if more decks can get into circulation. And then told his fans to proxy it and not feed the scalpers.
