If you’ve ever wanted to flood the battlefield with a sea of rowdy, pizza-stealing, firecracker-throwing Goblins, then Krenko, Mob Boss is your guy. This red mana menace doesn’t just create Goblins—he manufactures them in bulk, running an assembly line of chaos that would put Amazon to shame.

But what’s the best way to build a Krenko, Mob Boss commander deck? Do you go all-in on aggression? Do you stack combos? Or do you just sit back, make a million Goblins, and watch your friends’ eyes glaze over as they beg you to take your turn faster?
Let’s break it down, Goblin-style!
Step 1: The Krenko Game Plan
Krenko’s entire strategy can be summed up in three words: More. Goblins. Now.
You tap Krenko, you double your Goblin army, and then you watch as your opponents either (A) groan in despair or (B) start preparing their board wipes. The trick is speed—you want to get Krenko out ASAP and start making Goblins before your opponents can say Cyclonic Rift.
Here’s how you do it:
Play Krenko Early - Ideally, turn 2 or 3 via a ramp outlet.
Give Him Haste - Put him to work immediately.
Buff your Goblins - So they hit like tiny, angry trucks.
Prevent Board Wipes - Recover quickly when they inevitably happen.
Top 5 Cards You NEED to Include
These five cards will turn your Krenko, Mob Boss deck from a casual Goblin party into a full-scale invasion.

1. Skirk Prospector – The Goblin ATM
Every Krenko deck needs Skirk, full stop. Imagine if your Goblins could transform into cold, hard cash. Skirk Prospector lets you sacrifice Goblins for red mana providing some ramp and letting your get those combos off earlier and more often. Need to recast Krenko? Need to cast an Insurrection? This little Goblin’s got you covered.

2. Goblin Chieftain – The Speed Booster
Krenko is already a problem, but a Krenko that can pop off upon drop? That’s a disaster. Goblin Chieftain gives all your Goblins +1/+1 and haste, meaning the turn Krenko hits the board, he’s already doubling your Goblin count. As an added bonus, now your 1/1s are 2/2s, which makes them just a little more stabby.

3. Impact Tremors – The “Oops, You’re Dead” Machine
What’s better than making Goblins? Making Goblins that deal damage just by existing. Every time a Goblin enters the battlefield, Impact Tremors pings all your opponents for 1 damage per creature that has entered. Multiply that by 50+ Goblins, and suddenly, your opponents are feeling very dead.

4. Coat of Arms – The Goblin Megaphone
What’s better than a 1/1 Goblin? A 50/50 Goblin. Coat of Arms gives each creature +1/+1 for each other creature that shares a type. In a Krenko deck, this helps your Goblins go from weak little minions to Kaiju-sized nightmares. It also works for other tribes, so be careful—your Elf-playing friend might get very excited.

5. Goblin War Strike – The “Surprise, You’re Dead” Finisher
At some point, you might have 100+ Goblins on the battlefield, and attacking might not be an option depending on the board state or someone at your table looking at you funny. That’s where Goblin War Strike comes in—it lets you deal damage equal to the number of Goblins you control to any opponent. Congratulations, you win (unless you are playing a blue player then it's 50/50)!
Final Thoughts: Krenko, Mob Boss Commander Chaos
If you like fast-paced, overwhelming, and slightly ridiculous gameplay, then a Krenko, Mob Boss commander deck is for you. Just remember—your friends will hate you (in a loving way), and they will absolutely gang up on you the moment they see that first Goblin token.
So, grab your Goblin Chieftain, tap Krenko, and watch the world burn. Good luck, and may your opponents never find their board wipes in time!
